Last Friday(1st July 2011) i got my 1TB Transcend StoreJet external hard drive which was ordered from LetsBuy.com. After one week of its use i am writing this review.
Style and Design
Checking out its style, it got a pretty neat and stylish purple look. It is built with a triple-layer protection to ensure that the data is safe even if the drive is accidentally dropped. This 2.5- inch length external hard disk incorporated with a brilliant purple anti-slip rubber enclosure, it includes a reinforced hard casing that evenly distributes the force of an impact, and an internal hard drive suspension damper. The drive is powered by USB and there is no need of external power. It is also equipped with an extremely convenient OneTouch auto-backup button, which lets you instantly backup and synchronize data with your computer.
Features
- Super speed USB 3.0. (yes, it is backward compatible with USB 2.0)
- Bandwidth up to 5 Gbits/s. (in USB 3.0)
- Shockproof/ anti-slip design.
- Meets U.S military drop test standards.
- Plug and play(No driver needed).
- 256-bit AES file and folder encryption.
- Power saving sleep mode.
Usage
As i started using this, it is likely similar to the previous Transcend hard drive i had. The first thing is to register the product via online for the 3 year warranty. As for now i had only USB 2.0 in my laptop, the transfer speed while transferring a file is 24MB/s using Tera copy, which is good! It also comes with a Elite software(Windows) which lets you to manage synchronization. The MRP of this external hard drive is 9K, but i got it online for 4K( that is very cheap for an awesome drive like this) So as to conclude, this is one stylish, secure and portable hard drive with a good reasonable price. For anyone who is looking for a high capacity portable hard drive, i would totally recommend this.

Nice review…
Transcend is proving its quality
Nice price tag
Thanks!
Yes it is!!
Hey just one more question… as there are 2 ports in this drive… do we need to connect both for powering up the device? as i have only 1 port free on my laptop this will be a deal breaker for me if i need to connect both ports for data transfer…
If you checked the manual it says to connect both the ports. But that is not actually needed when you are connected to power, you just need to connect one port. While running in battery, do connect both the ports.
Thanks Shahbaz Zubair for fantastic review…
When I oredered my Laptop from my Dealer he also gave me an offer of 1TB Transcend StoreJet … it was for 3K… nice deal i guess … going for it…
Hi I bought an LCD (Samsung D551) on which USB ports were available and movies played once the USB was connected to the LCD. Somebody told me external hard disks also work in a similar way. I bought the Transcend StoreJet but it doesnt work with the LCD. The light turns on and the hard disk vibrates but nothing happens.
I need help. Please email me at mani397@hotmail.com
For some LCDs, I think mechanical drives wont load. You need a computer for that. Is it working fine with flash drives?

TRANSCEND is NOTTTTTTTTTTT RELIABLE….
Hi, i’m saad from islamabad, Pakistan. I also had a 250 GB Transcend, i used it for atleast 2 years. it fell almost 50 times and nothing happened to it. Keeping that previous experience, Then I bought the same 1 TB transcend 25H3, purple color, I used it and this drive never fell once. I’ve been using this new drive for 4 months, And yesterday WITHOUT ANY REASON….while watching a movie it got stuck. and since then its not working and making a bad sound, like a sector reading error etc. WHAT THE HELL IS THISSSSSSSSSS! I went to the shop they said i can claim the warranty and get a new one but what about my data?????????????????! I should’ve bought a WD MY PASSPORT 1 TB for 7000 Rs, but i bought a transcend for 11000 Rs, just because its shock proof n drop test etc… so i think i should have bought WD!
mail me any comments. thanx…. weird_wires@yahoo.com
