A gallery is a collection of images.

After reading this post, you will learn to display images as shown below.

Gallery can be easily implemented in WordPress with the help of  “NextGen Gallery”  Plugin. I have explained in detail about its installation, uploading images, displaying gallery etc in this post.

Lets start with installing the gallery plugin.

Go to Plugins-> Add New

Search for “nextgen gallery” . The search result will be as given below. Now, Install NextGen Gallery .

Click Install.

After the installation, activate the Plugin.

Now, you can see a new Gallery option in your Dashboard.

Goto Add Gallery/ Images. Give a name to your gallery( as i gave Gallery1). and then click Add Gallery.

This will create a gallery named Gallery1.

Now lets see how to upload images. Click  Upload Images option to upload images.

Browse for images. You can select multiples images at a time using Ctrl button.

After selecting images, click Open.

Select the gallery in which you want to upload your images. Since you can create any number of galleries,  you have to specify the name of the gallery while uploading images.

After selecting the gallery, click Upload images.

You will get a message when the uploading finishes.

Now display the gallery in a Post or Page using the code given below.

Create more galleries and display them by changing the id, i.e id=2 or id=3 etc.

Check the blog for Gallery.

You can add more galleries. For that goto Gallery-> Add Gallery/ images

Give a gallery name and click Add gallery.

While uploading images, take care of the gallery into which you want to upload.

The existing Galleries can be managed with the ‘ Gallery-> Manage gallery’ option.

Then select the gallery you want to manage.

Existing images can be renamed, deleted, sorted etc. Also you can set a preview image for the gallery.
