IPTV Will Replace DTH

After the discovery of IPTV, a new area of home entertainment was opened. Earlier, signals were transmitted through cables and on air. The timeline of television started on 1800, but it took a long period to invent a electronic television on 1907 and it was the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Television.

The last two decades were the transformation from CRT to LCD television, which is based on Liquid Crystal Display. On application of voltage, the crystals get in between the display panels get activated, it uses a CCFL backlight, but the new era had changed the condition from LCD to Plasma and Plasma to LED and even 3D televisions are available in market.

The LED television differs only from the backlight used is the LED, it uses Light Emitting Diodes to produce back light, and all the other features are same as LCD television.

Plasma televisions works on an entirely different technology, the electrons are released from the gas discharge, which hits the RGB colour to produce different colours.

Consider a situation having the latest television available is at your home and using old cable television signal to the giant television. It is not good to spend huge amount of money on the television to work on a cable TV signal. If your LCD or LED television works on cable TV signal, then there is no use to buy such an expensive television. The old CRT television is enough to handle such a poor signal to high-end television.

The companies like TataSky, Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, Big TV, DD Direct plus and Sun Direct are giving DTH services and HDTV services at your home. We never get the full feature in such a connection when compared to IPTV services. Still there are restrictions. It is not an end user product. We can have the services what the DTH service operator offers at their time, ie we have to wait till the programme comes on the television and to record it. But in an IPTV, we can enjoy our favourite programme on our time by video on demand services. The video on demand services includes pre recorded programmes like serials, movies etc but it is impossible to have a live programme like sports, news etc. You can watch tomorrows programme today itself in an IPTV, we don’t want to wait for any one, all you needed arrives on your screen instantly at your time.

IPTV refers to Internet Protocol Television, the unique feature that IPTV have from the cable TV and DTH services are, instant video on demand services. In a DTH television, we can only record the programme at the time it is broadcasted and can watch at your time, but it is limited. In an IPTV, we can watch future programmes also.
