newswatch.in is an online monitor of the news industry and the journalism profession. The site was launched on August 1, 2005. newswatch.in, to borrow a worn-out dotgone cliche, is a portal. To steal another hackneyed phrase from the zillions who are quoted day in and out, we are "different". newswatch.in is a website which provides news (and occasionally, views) about what is pertinent to newspeople.
Broadly speaking, newswatch.in is indeed a media site. But we desist from dubbing ourselves "media people". Even advertising and PR professionals are mediapersons. We deal with journalists, journalism, and what is of immediate relevance for journalists. To be specific still, we deal with the news media. Everything else is secondary.
We are looking for "Research Interns" for a project we would like to carry out on the state of freedom of expression in India.
Requirements:
- Should be thorough with conducting searches on Google
- Should be thorough with freedom of expression issues
To familiarise yourself with our understanding of and stand on freedom of expression issues, visit our earlier blog ‘The Expressionist’ and browse around as much as you can. To take up this internship opportunity, it is imperative that you are thorough with freedom of expression issues.
Ideal for journalism / mass-com students.
