We all know that Kerala has been called affectionately by tourists as God’s Own Country since long. I guess that its time to bring a slight modification on it. How about renaming it to Gold’s Own Country?
In the present day scenario, prices of almost all the things are sky high. Gold is no exception. This yellow metal is consistently maintaining more than 12,000 Rs for eight grams since long. Strange thing is that nobody is complaining about that.
Kerala is the biggest consumer in India when it comes to Gold as well as Liquor which can be named as the official HEALTH drink of Kerala! These two are perhaps the only two things whose price hike doesn’t matter Keralites at all.
During the months July to September when rate of marriages are
supposed to be high, about 15kg of gold are being sold per day from a big jewellery gaint in market. Medium and small scale shops manage to sell about 10kg in total.
If there are 5 big jewellery shops and total 15 medium and small scale shops in a particular city centre, total sales will be 225 kg of gold per day from these twenty shops. That means about INR 301,500,000 income per day excluding all the expenses if one gram costs INR 1,500! Can anyone count the number of digits and tell me the actual amount? I’m fainting here!
In off season when marriages will be relatively less in number, atleast 5kg of gold will be sold in big shops per day and minimum of 2
kg from medium and small scale shops per day. If you apply above calculations here also, 55kg of gold is most likely to be sold from those twenty shops. That’ll be about INR 82,500,000 per day!
I just got only one question.
From where does all these money come from? When ever gold’s price increases, more and more people come and buy it. What is the actual source of this much money? Out of these, how much will be the black money which are hidden from the goverment? What is this much special in this yellow shiny metal that attracts such huge amount of people and their money like this?
I feel that a lion’s share of this much money spent over gold are black money itself which are earned through improper means. When poor people who have no money even to buy a gram of gold ornaments are struggling to make their ends meet, rich people are just stocking away their wealth in the form of gold and other jewellery.

When i walk down this road, I can only see darkness around me.
Sorrow, fear, confusion, bad luck are laughing making fun of me.
I can see myself walking alone in the darkness.
But a strange voice in me is urging me to move forward.
Saying that one day life’ll be beautiful.
One day everything’ll be back to normal.
And i’m walking through this darkness with the help of those four letters.

After seeing my paintings in our blog many had started asking me how you draw pictures, why do you draw like this etc. So now i think it’s time say some stories behind my paintings.
Here i share with you an interesting story behind the making of my latest and most wonderful painting i ever made..Yashoda & Kannan
Really it was another picture i wish to draw. For the first time I’m revealing it to all. This picture work was first started in last august. It was just a portrait of a girl when i started. And i really started it to present it to her. But our relation was broken suddenly and i thrown the half completed picture to my dust bin.
But after 6 months when i plan to draw another picture i happen to see it again. I take it and changed as you see now. But i was forced to change the face of the girl again. After seeing my painting my mum said that she had seen similar girl anywhere as in my painting. Then i realize that face of yashoda still look like her. So i use fabric paints and repaint the face again. At last after working more than 24 hrs( not continuous) i completed this painting. But now i think redrawing it for 3 times had really improved its quality.
