Never put off or postpone things that can be done now
PROCRASTINATION is the thief of time.
Here is a poem by Kop Meyer.
“The clock of life is wound but only once,
And no one has the power
To tell to tell just when the hands will stop,
At late or early hour
Now it is the only time you can
Live, Love, toil with a will
Place no faith in tomorrow, for
The clock may then be still”
The poem is not pessimistic in saying that we may not be alive tomorrow. It is to help us have a realistic idea of knowing what we have and what we do not.
Many people resolve that they would spend more time with their families, start exercising, or quit smoking from next week or the coming Monday. And it rarely happens. This is because putting off something is like saying
‘I want the present state to continue’. By resolving to quit a bad habit later, we reaffirm the habit!!
There is a strange but true law of life- an opportunity knocks only once. So before you turn down an opportunity or offer, ask for time to respond to it because often the decision taken over time is a more well-thought-out and sensible decision…!!!!!!
Remember,
“PROCRASTINATION IS A GRAVE IN WHICH OPPORTUNITY IS BURRIED”.
