Hi,
The following are the list of text books that are useful for the S6 CS and IT students.
CS 601 COMPILER CONSTRUCTION
1) Alfred V. Aho, Compilers Principles, Techniques & Tools
2) Rajni Jindal Compiler Construction &Design
The first one is mentioned in the syllabus. Second one is very “user friendly” but does not cover all the portions.
CS/EE 602 DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
1) P.Ramesh Babu: Digital signal Processing
For DSP irrespective of your stream Ramesh Babu is used.
CS/IT 603 OPERATING SYSTEMS
1) Andrew S. Tanenbaum, “Modern Operating Systems
Although not mentioned under the head TextBooks in the syllabus it covers all the portions
CS /IT 604 ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF ALGORITHMS
1) Allen Van Gelder, Sara Baase, “Computer Algorithms -Introduction to Design and Analysis”
Almost all the portions are covered in this book. For the second module more resources are available in the net.
CS/EB/EC/EI 605 CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
1) Nagoor Kani: Control Systems, R B P,2002
Like DSP all students who have Control system in the syllabus go for Nagoor Kani’ text.
CS/IT 606 COMPUTER NETWORKS
1) Andrew S. Tanenbaum, Computer Networks
The text book mentioned in the syllabus are not affordable. If i am correct it comes around 10 k for that book. We usually follow Tanenbaum. From my personal experience i firmly believes Behrouz A. Fourouzan ,Data Communications and Networking is the best.
