കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങള്ക്ക് മുന്നേ ഞങ്ങള് കോളേജില് നിന്നും തിരിച്ചുവരുമ്പോള് തുഷാര പറയുകയുണ്ടായി അവള്ക്കു പൂച്ചയെ വല്ല്യ ഇഷ്ടമാണെന്ന്.അപ്പോള് എന്റെ മനസിലേയ്ക്ക് ഓടി വന്നത് ആ വെളുത്ത പൂച്ചയായിരുന്നു. അമ്മ പറയാറുണ്ട് ഒന്നിനെയും വളര്ത്തരുതെന്നു അത് നമ്മളെ വല്ലാതെ സങ്കട പ്പെടുത്തുമെന്ന്. പക്ഷെ ഞാന് വളര്ത്താത്ത,ഒരു കഷ്ണം ബിസ്കറ്റ് പോലും കൊടുക്കാഞ്ഞ ആ വെളുത്ത പൂച്ച എന്നെ വല്ലാതെ സങ്കടപെടുത്തി,ദിവസങ്ങളോളം…..
വെളുത്ത പൂച്ച
ആ വെളുത്തപൂച്ചയെ വീടിന്റെ പരിസരങ്ങളില് കാണാന് തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട് കുറച്ചു കാലമേ ആയുള്ളൂ.അതിനെ എല്ലാവരും വെളുത്ത പൂച്ച എന്നാണ് വിളിയ്ക്കുക.ആരാണ് അതിനാ പേരിട്ടത് എന്നറിയില്ല.അത് വെളുതതിനാലാവണം ഈ പേര്. എല്ലാവരും പറയുന്നത് അതൊരു കള്ളിപൂച്ച ആണെന്നാണ്. കള്ളപൂച്ചയാണോ,അറിയില്ല.എന്റെ അയല് ഗൃഹങ്ങളില് എല്ലാം അത് കയറി മോഷണം നടത്തിയതായാണ് അറിവ്.എന്റെ വീട്ടില് കയറിയതായി പരാതിയൊന്നും ഇതുവരെ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.അതിവിടെ വാസം ഉറപ്പിയ്ക്കാന് കാരണം എന്റെ ഒരു അയല്ക്കാരി,രണ്ടാംക്ലാസുകാരി നല്കുന്ന ദോശകഷ്ണത്താലാണ്.ആ പതിവ് ഇന്നും തുടരുന്നതായി അറിവില്ല.എന്റെ വീടിന്റെ ഉമ്മറത്ത് പോലും ഞങ്ങളതിനെ കയറ്റാറില്ല.”വീട് വൃത്തികേടാക്കും”,എന്നാണ് അമ്മയുടെ പരാതി. അതിന്റെ ദയനീയമായ മുഖവും കരച്ചിലും ആരെയും വീഴ്ത്തുന്നതാണ്.പക്ഷെ ഞാനിതുവരെ അതിന്റെ വലയില് വീണിട്ടില്ല.അത് രാത്രി കാലങ്ങളില് രാമായണ പാരായണം നടത്തുന്ന അച്ഛന്റെ കാലുകളില് മുട്ടിയുരുമ്മി സോപ്പിടാറുണ്ട്. ഒരുദിവസം രാവിലെ ഞാന് ഉണര്ന്നത് അതിന്റെ കരച്ചില് കേട്ടാണ്.ഉമ്മറത്തു കയറ്റാത്ത പൂച്ച എന്റെ വീടിനകത്ത്.എന്റെ ആജ്ഞാനുസാരിയായി അത് വീടിനുവെളിയില് കടന്നു.ഞാന് അത്ഭുതപ്പെട്ടു.അത് എങ്ങനെ എന്നെ അനുസരിച്ചു? ദിവസങ്ങള് അനേകം കടന്നു പോയി.അത് രാത്രികാലങ്ങളില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിലെ നിവസിയായി എന്നും വരാന് തുടങ്ങി.പക്ഷെ അത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നും ഒന്നും കട്ടുതിന്നില്ല.ഞങ്ങള് ഒന്നും കൊടുത്തതുമില്ല. അത് കുറച്ചുനാള് മുഴുപ്പട്ടിണിയിലാവണം.പൈപ്പില് വെള്ളമില്ലാത്തതിനാല് പുറത്ത് പാത്രത്തില് വെള്ളം വയ്ക്കാറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഒരു ദിവസം രാത്രി ഞാന് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അത് കുടിച്ച് വിശപ്പടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു ആ വെളുത്ത പൂച്ച.അത് എന്നെനോക്കി ദയനീയമായി ഒന്ന് കരഞ്ഞു.അന്ന് രാത്രി എന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തില് ആ കരച്ചില് നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നു.ദിവസങ്ങള് കടന്നുപോയി.പൂച്ചയെ കാണാറേ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.ഞാന് ആ കാര്യം പാടേ മറന്നു. രാവിലെ തന്നെ വല്യമ്മ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം എന്നെ വല്ലാതെ സങ്കടപ്പെടുത്തി.അത് ഇതായിരുന്നു, തലേന്നാള് വിറക് എടുക്കുവാന് വിറകുപുരയില് പോയപ്പോള് കണ്ടത് ഒരു പഴകിയ പൂച്ചയുടെ ശവമായിരുന്നു.അതും ഒരു വെളുത്ത പൂച്ചയുടെ അപ്പോഴും എന്റെ കണ്ണില് നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നത് ആ ദയനീയമായ മുഖവും ആ കരച്ചിലും ആയിരുന്നു….
